Christophe Galtier: 'Recreate a winning dynamic'

The Paris Saint-Germain coach wants his side to get back to winning ways when they face Angers in Wednesday's Ligue 1 fixture.

THE SQUAD

"The squad had been a bit all over the place for a while, and we've now got some depth back. Unfortunately, Marco [Verratti] felt a niggle in his thigh. We'll see what the tests tell us. The squad isn't at full strength, but it's more operational than in recent weeks."

FIXTURES

"The games come thick and fast, but we have to put in a better performance than we did at Lens. We have to show a different face. There were some good things in the Coupe de France, but it's a completely different competition."

OPPONENTS

"Angers knocked out Strasbourg in the Coupe de France, and since they changed coach, they're a team that looked dangerous against Lorient and Ajaccio. We'll have to take control of the game to get back our understanding on the pitch and recreate a winning dynamic. The league position of a team changes nothing. Everyone has their goals, both teams will want to win. But we have to be better going forward."

RENATO SANCHES

"Renato's good. He'll be available for the game against Rennes, but not Angers. He's training with the rest of the squad, he'll need a full week before he can be in the matchday squad."

MUKIELE

"He's versatile, he can play in a back three or four, in the middle or at full-back. He's settled in quickly, has been able to work a lot in recent weeks, and is good physically and mentally. He's one of the bright points of recent games. We have a lot of fixtures, we know Hakimi played a lot at the World Cup, and it's important that Nordi can flourish in that role, even if we can count on him for other positions. I'm happy with what he contributes to the squad."

YOUNGSTERS

"There's not a strategy. Like a lot of others, I've seen that there's a lot of quality at the Paris Saint-Germain Youth Academy. There have always been very good young players, and some of them left because the squad was very big. We've come up against them at the top level after that. It was the aim of both Luis Campos and the CEO & Chairman to give youngsters a chance. They played in the Coupe de France, they were promising, but they have to have experienced players around them. The hope of playing certain games must enable them to improve more quickly."
