Christophe Galtier: "Maintain our lead"

The Paris Saint-Germain coach answered questions from PSG TV and the media ahead of the 36th Ligue 1 match against AJ Auxerre on Sunday 21 May at 20:45 at the Stade de l'Abbé Deschamps.

MARQUINHOS

"It's good news, it's his 10th season at the club. It's a strong signal to keep your best players. Marquinhos is very attached to the club and it's good news for me, for the club and for the fans. He's been one of the best defenders for 10 years, it's a way of showing that PSG are there for the years to come."

the MATCH in AUXERRE

"We are playing the last game of the day on Sunday evening, so we will automatically know everyone's results. We are on a good run of form, especially away from home, and we will have a different opponent than Troyes, who are fighting for survival. Auxerre will be playing to stay up, we will be playing to maintain our lead. The stadium will be full, they will want to push their players to go for a win. It's up to us to make sure we have the upper hand in the match."

the run

"I felt after Lorient that there was a big commitment from all the players, my players were very serious like every week. We have a very important match, we are getting closer to the end of the league. We can't count on Lens dropping points and it's up to us to perform well and play a good match which will be totally different from Troyes and Ajaccio. I know it will be a difficult match. They are undefeated at home in the last seven games."

GIANLUIGI DONNARUMMA

"He's getting better at reading the game, I've felt he's been very decisive on his line lately. He's starting to take more leadership of his defence. He has an area of improvement in my eyes by being even more aggressive and not accepting to concede a goal when we win 3-0 so he can become one of the best goalkeepers in the world."

MARCO VERRATTI

"Marco took a blow on his knee which prevented him from training with the team. He has been training individually and he seems to be doing much better, we will check after tomorrow's training session but we are confident that he will be with us in Auxerre. "
