Christophe Galtier: "It's a big game"

The Paris Saint-Germain manager answered questions from PSG TV and the media ahead of the game against Lyon on Matchday 8 of Ligue 1, tomorrow evening at 20:45 CET at the Groupama Stadium in Décines-Charpieu. Here are some extracts.

ON HAÏFA

"I rewatched the game against Maccabi Haifa and had discussions about it. It was a very long journey, with a two-hour bus ride on top. There was also the heat. For a good half-hour, we really struggled. We made a lot of mistakes technically, which were uncharacteristic for us. In the second half, having spoken to the players a lot at the break, we looked less disjointed. Our front three are capable of making the difference at any moment."

ON LYON

"We can't take our foot off the gas against a team like this. I think that Lyon will be looking to press us. It'll be an intense game, a tug of war right from the start, and our aim is to win it. Everyone is feeling good and wants to play this fixture. It's a big game. Knowing Peter Bosz's philosophy, I think that he'll stick to what he does best, with a very attacking team that will look to press us. It'll be an intense game with a great atmosphere, and we'll need to be able to play under pressure and to impose our style of play. Our aim is to win it, and to do that, we'll need to put in a big performance."

ON THE VERRATTI/VITINHA DUO

"I'm obviously pleased with their partnership. They're two players who get stuck in and do a lot of running, and they're two very good footballers. It's important to have that in the midfield. If we don't defend as much collectively, they might find things difficult. We can also put three players in the middle. They've played a lot of games recently, but I haven't yet made my decision on our midfield for Sunday."

ON HUGO EKITIKE

"He's got incredible potential. He's still getting to grips with the highest level and has needed quite a few sessions in order to find his way in games. He's improving and is itching to play. I've told him that his time will come very soon; he'll get a lot more game time shortly."
