Christophe Galtier: 'Be focussed and determined'

The Paris Saint-Germain coach faced the media ahead of this weekend's Ligue 1 game against Reims.

POST-benfica

You have to be able to move on quickly. We look at the state of the players, their fatigue. You have to pay attention to this because the fixture list is heavy. The players have to recover as quickly as possible. But we quickly looked ahead to Reims after Benfica. There's a lot of motivation to play in the Champions League, but we want to win the French league title, so we quickly have to move on to the next game.

THE OPPONENT

Reims are a team that likes to play football, that puts in  a lot of intensity and rhythm. They'll want to put in a good performance and beat Paris Saint-Germain. They're a team with an identifiable gameplan. It's up to us to start well, be focussed and determined, committed, to get a win in Reims.

THE SYSTEM

There's always thoughts on the system. You have to adapt to circumstances, the players' form, injuries. Kimpembe still isn't ready, Nuno Mendes is also out, but it's not those absences that will lead me to change the system.

EKITIKE

He knows the stadium, one in which he's played well, but I don't want to put pressure on Hugo in terms of it being Reims or his first start. He's a young forward, he still has to learn, a competitor's learning process and a competitive one. You have to perform when you're at Paris Saint-Germain.

DONNARUMMA

He's working well. No one is immune to comments and criticism, no one can just shrug that off. What I have seen is that he has remained focussed, concentrating on his strengths and putting right his little mistakes. He was happy with his performance on Wednesday, everyone was. He's a young player who has good people around him to help him understand what is good and what isn't going so well.

GHABRI

He's working well and improving. We talked this morning. I told him not to take his foot off the gas. He's working well, playing well in the Youth League, even if Ligue 1 asks even more of you.

SOLER

There is always a period of adaptation that you cannot rush, both personally and professionally. There's always a need for time. He's not played a lot. You saw him in a different position with Spain than he was with Valencia. He's capable of playing between the lines, on the right, but especially on the left. He likes to come inside on his right foot. Carlos could play tomorrow.
