Christian: "My relationship with Paris Saint-Germain is very strong"

To mark the 50th anniversary of the capital club, PSG.FR gives you the chance to dive into Paris Saint-Germain history through interviews with those who have written Rouge et Bleu history. Today, Christian - the Brazilian forward at the club from 1999 to 2001 (29 goals in 71 matches) - shares his memories.

Christian, what's it like for you to be back at the Parc des Princes ?
"I wanted to see how the club had changed. Now I am here and I'm happy to be here. Things have chanced a lot and I'm very happy to be here."

You spent two seasons at Paris Saint-Germain. What's your best memory?
"I've got good memories from my time here. I had some very good evenings on the pitch at the Parc des Princes. It was great but I think my first season was the best. I scored a lot of goals and we qualified for the Champions League. I got to know my teammates and things went well for me and that's the most important thing. I left friends behind when I left. The club has grown a lot. I've been gone nearly twenty years. It's great to see how the club's evolved with the arrival of big stars."

You're well placed to know that there is a beautiful love story between Paris and Brazil. Does it move you to see so many Brazilians succeed at Paris Saint-Germain?
"Of course, the history between Brazil and Paris Saint-Germain is incredible. Great players have come here, Raï, Leonardo, Valdo... great players. Ricardo as well. Now I watch games and I say yo myself I played here. I played and I scored goals. It was great. I'm part of the story. More than 30 Brazilians have played for the club. I'm one of them and that pleases me a lot."

How do you follow Paris Saint-Germain now?
"I watch matches at home in Brazil. I'm happy because I love the club deeply and I'm a real supporter. I think the club will soon do great things. I'm going to follow all the games and hope that everything goes well for the club."
