Cher Ndour signs for Paris Saint-Germain

Paris Saint-Germain is delighted to announce the signing of Cher Ndour. The 18-year-old midfielder has signed a five-year deal with the club and will wear the number 27.

Born in Brescia, Italy, in 2004, Ndour started out as an academy player for Brescia Calcio in 2009, then for Atalanta BC in 2013, before moving to Portugal in 2020 to sign his first professional contract with SL Benfica.

The Italian-Senegalese midfielder initially featured for the Lisbon-based outfit's reserve team in Liga Portugal 2, thereby becoming, at 16 years and 279 days old, the youngest-ever player to play for Benfica B. On top of this, Ndour helped the Portuguese side's U19s to take home the UEFA Youth League in 2022, notably scoring a goal in the final.

On 18th March 2023, he made his first-team debut in a game against Vitória de Guimarães, which gave him the chance to play a part in Benfica's league title win last season. Capable of using both his right foot and his left foot, Ndour is a 1m90, powerful and technically very skilled midfielder.

Currently with Italy at the 2023 UEFA European Under-19 Championship, Ndour has taken part in his country's three games so far, scoring a penalty in the first game against Malta. His side will face Spain in the semi-finals at 21:00 CET this Thursday.

"I'm really moved, Ndour reacted. It's a mix of emotions, but it's happiness above all because Paris Saint-Germain is one of the best clubs in the world with so many winners, and for me, it's an honour to be a part of this new family."
