Cher Ndour: "Ready to give everything for this club"

Paris Saint-Germain's new Italian midfielder gave his first interview to the club's media. He talks about his development and how happy he is to be joining one of the biggest clubs in the world.

Welcome cher, how do you feel about becoming a Paris Saint-Germain player?

"It's a really special feeling. I'm feeling a lot of emotions, but first of all it's a great feeling of joy. Paris Saint-Germain is one of the biggest clubs in the world, and there are a lot of great champions here, so it's a real honour to be able to join this family. The project, the players, the stadium, everything appealed to me and convinced me to sign for the club straight away. I think coming here was the best choice for me."

You're still very young, don't you feel a lot of pressure arriving at a club like this, with such a great squad?

"It's a new chapter in my development. Obviously there's a bit of pressure, but first and foremost it's good pressure. It's something that pushes me to work even harder so that I can continue to improve every day. And I'm someone who loves new challenges and new adventures, so now I'm ready to give everything for this club."

You're the 10th Italian player in Paris Saint-Germain's history, following in the footsteps of Marco Simone, Thiago Motta and Marco Verratti. Is that something that means a lot to you?

"Yes, it's great to follow in the footsteps of all the great Italian players who have worn this shirt. Marco Verratti is a great player and a role model for me, especially as we play in the same position. I'm going to try to learn as much as I can from him. He's one of Italy's best midfielders, and even one of the best midfielders in the world, so to be able to play with him... What's more, we'll be able to communicate in Italian together, which is bound to be an advantage for me. When I was little, I never imagined that one day I'd have the chance to play with so many great players. Up until now I've only seen them on Playstation, so it's really something incredible."

Listening to you, we get the feeling that nothing scares you and that you don't feel the pressure?

"I've got a strong personality, and without that, I don't think I would have managed to get to where I am today. And playing for such a big club, with that kind of pressure, is very motivating."

Have you set yourself any personal goals for this season?

"For me, the most important thing is to play, to be on the pitch. After that, it doesn't matter where, whether it's in my preferred position or not, I don't care, I just want to play. So I'll play wherever the coach wants me to play, wherever he needs me."

you're also going to discover the parc des princes...

"I know it a little. I first saw the stadium when Benfica played there last season. I came here with the Youth League team and I remember being impressed by the atmosphere. It'll be a real pleasure to be able to play here, in this stadium that's always full. And the fans are incredible, as are the tifos, which really pushes you to be good on the pitch."

We can tell you're really looking forward to it, aren't you?

"Yes, of course. I'm sure that my debut here will be very emotional. I'm going to try to turn all that emotion into something very positive, with the aim of always giving my all, as I do every time I take the field."

Finally, do you have a message you'd like to pass on to the fans?

"I just want to tell them that I will always give my all to play for this shirt. From now on and every time I play, I'll give 100%. I'm just looking forward to playing at the Parc des Princes in front of our fantastic fans. I'm very happy to be here in Paris."
