Cavani: 'Enjoy nature to escape the pressure'

A great fan of fishing and nature, Paris Saint-Germain forward Edinson Cavani took the time to discover the natural environment surrounding the team's Sofitel hotel in Suzhou on Monday.

After lunch with his teammates and then various interviews with both French and Chinese media at the Rouge et Bleu base in Suzhou, the Uruguay international took a few minutes to stroll around the hotel's surrounding environment in the Yangzi Jiang delta of East China. "I love nature!" exlplained the Paris No.9. "It's magnificet here. It's really interesting to get to know these types of places here in China."

This passionate fisherman crossed paths with a local testing the waters and quickly engaged in a discussion about techniques before casting out himself: "I love everything about fishing! I try and do it as much as possible."

"It offers you the opportunity to relax," explained the club's all-time leading scorer. "Football isn't just about getting on the pitch and playing. There's a lot more to it than that and sometimes it can be very tiring. Sometimes it's good to be able to get away and enjoy nature, the calm, the tranquility, without all the pressure. It's great for recharging the batteries. The most important things for me are family, friends and nature."

Fishing and football, not so different for the five-times French champion: "Fishing is like football. You have to wait for the right moment to strike... just like an attacker," he concluded, before heading to the Suzhou Olympic Sports Centre for another training session alongside his teammates.
