Carlos Soler joins West Ham United on loan
Midfielder Carlos Soler has joined West Ham United on loan.
The native of Valencia (Spain) joined his hometown club's academy in 2005. He established himself within the youth teams of Valencia CF before joining the first team squad during the 2015-2016 season.
Carlos Soler made his La Liga debut with the Blanquinegros against Real Sociedad on 10 December 2016. With his boyhood club, the midfielder played 226 matches, scoring 36 goals and providing 31 assists. He notably won the Copa del Rey in 2019, thanks to a victory over FC Barcelona (2-1).
Arriving at Paris Saint-Germain during the summer 2022 transfer window, the attacking midfielder won two Ligue 1 titles (2023 and 2024), a Coupe de France (2024) and a Trophée des Champions (2023). In two seasons with the Parisian club, he participated in 63 matches, scoring 8 goals and providing 8 assists.
A Spain international since the U19s, he won the UEFA European Under-21 Championship in 2019 after reaching the final in the 2017 edition. Carlos Soler also played in 7 matches at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, earning a silver medal. The Spanish midfielder was called up to the senior national team following the Olympics and scored on his debut on 2 September 2021, against Sweden. To date, he has earned 14 caps and scored 4 goals for La Roja.
