Carlos Soler: 'I want to give my all for this jersey'

Just after signing his five-year contract with Paris Saint-Germain, Carlos Soler shared his first impressions of the Rouge et Bleu with the club's media. Extracts!

Carlos, welcome to Paris. How does it feel to have become a Paris Saint-Germain player?

I would like to thank everybody for the welcome that I have received. I am very happy! It's a new adventure for me in my career, the first away from Valencia and outside of Spain, and I feel very proud and excited about the idea of starting work with my teammates! I can't wait to meet them and to give my all for this jersey.

How would you describe yourself as a player on the pitch?

I have always been a very hard working player. I try to adapt to what the coach asks of me. If he needs me to play in any position across the pitch, I will give my all. It's what I did during all those years in Valencia, and even with the national team. I have played in several positions and I always make myself available for the team. I think that it is one of my greatest qualities.

You will also get to experience the Parc des Princes...

It will be my first time! I have never played there, I can't wait to be able to walk out onto the pitch soon. On Tuesday, we have our first Champions League match at the Parc des Princes, and it will be my first chance to experience it. I am sure that it will be a huge party for everyone and for the supporters.

On that note, would you like to share a message with them?

I want to say to them that I am really grateful for the welcome that I have received! I will give everything I have and I will repay their affection on the pitch.
