Captain Marquinhos on course for 100 matches as captain

The clash between Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid will be particularly special for Les Rouge et Bleu's Brazilian defender, Marquinhos.

Against Real Madrid at the Parc des Princes this evening, Paris captain Marquinhos is set to wear the captain's armband for the 100th time in his career.

Since his first time captaining the side in the 6-2 league win over Bordeaux at the Parc des Princes on 30th September 2017, the Brazilian defender's record stands at 70 wins, 16 draws and just 13 defeats.

Marqui will become the seventh Paris captain to wear the armband at least 100 times, joining, in chronological order, Jean-Pierre Dogliani (100 times), Dominique Bathenay (227), Paul Le Guen (113), Frédéric Déhu (105), Pedro Miguel Pauleta (114), Claude Makelele (115) and the club's all-time record holder, Thiago Silva, who was captain on 293 occasions.
