Brazil win with Marquinhos and Neymar Jr

Neymar Jr and Marquinhos's Brazil lived up to their billing as favourites by beating a strong Serbian side on Thursday 24 November in the first matchday of the group stage of the 2022 Qatar FIFA World Cup.

Tite's Brazil team made their much-anticipated debut at the World Cup this Thursday evening, in front of a yellow and green crowd that came to support one of the tournament's big favourites.
Parisians Marquinhos and Neymar Jr started their tournament perfectly, winning against Serbia (2-0).

After being denied by the solidity of the Serbians, the Seleçao players managed to up the tempo in the last half hour of the match, thanks to a brace from Richarlison. Neymar Jr was forced off with 10 minutes to go in regulation time due to injury. However, his coach was reassuring at the end of the match.

Nevertheless, the Brazilians were able to join Switzerland, who had earlier beaten Cameroon (1-0), at the top of Group G. A habit they are proud of, as they have topped their group in the group stage of every World Cup since 1982!

Next match for our Brazilians: the match against Switzerland, Monday at 17:00! Serbia will face Cameroon, the same day, at 11:00.
