Bradley Barcola: 'I think I'm improving little by little'

The Paris Saint-Germain forward looks back on his first six months in the capital.

Bradley, IT WAS SYMBOLIC THAT YOUR FIRST MATCH WITH PARIS SAINT-GERMAIN WAS AGAINST LYON. HOW WAS THAT?

"It was really great, and quite special. I know I'll never forget it. I had only been here a week, and I was really determined to play that game, against my former club. It is really something that will stay in my mind forever."

DID YOU FEEL PRESSURE BECAUSE YOU WERE PLAYING AGAINST Lyon ?

"No, I didn't have any pressure, because I had spoken to the coach. He told me to go onto the pitch with peace of mind. When you get onto the pitch from the very first game, you know that they really have confidence in you. I really liked that, and I can't thank him enough."

AND THEN THERE'S YOUR FIRST START AGAINST Marseille...

"I didn't expect that at all. I tried as much as possible not to put pressure on myself, to tell myself that for my first game starting, being at home for a big game like that, there's nothing better. The coach tells us that we have to work every day in training, and if you work well, you play. That's why everyone works a lot and as he has said, age doesn't come into it. If you're good, you play, and that's it."

WHAT DO YOU REMEMBER ABOUT GETTING YOUR FIRST ASSIST AGAINST BREST ON MATCHDAY 10 ?

"It was a lovely goal from Warren, and yes it was an assist, and I was very happy to provide it for him. Honestly, it was a very very nice goal. When you're a forward, you're judged on your play, but statistics count a lot. It was important to be able to get my first assist, and what's more it's a nice one. I really play to win, so if I can score I score, if I can make an assist, I do that."

YOU THEN SCORE YOUR FIRST GOAL WITH PARIS AGAINST NANTES. TELL US ABOUT IT...

"When I have the ball out wide like that, I like to do a little one-two, and I knew it would work with Vitinha. So, I was really happy to score that goal, and at the Parc des Princes too, who could ask for more? I was really proud, and I'll never forget it. Everything went well in the move. I managed to do everything, had a good touch, and brought it out from under my feet to get the shot away. Honestly, I like everything about that move."

YOU HAVE ALSO WON YOUR FIRST TROPHY WITH THE TROPHée DES CHAMPIONS. WHAT DID THAT MEAN TO YOU?

"It was magnificent. It's my first trophy, because even at youth level, I didn't win a lot. So it was really incredible. I was very happy, and my family were in the stadium too, so I couldn't ask for more."

AND YOU GET AN ASSIST IN THE GAME...

"It's less good than the one for Warren, I would say. Against Toulouse, I give the ball to Kylian, and he does everything. You know Kylian, you know what he's capable of, so whenever you give him the ball, you know it can become an assist. It's exceptional to play with him. You know you're playing with one of the best players in the world, and he's a leader on the pitch. He talks a lot to us, he directs us...I'm very happy to play with him. It's an honour."

HOW WOULD YOU SUM UP YOUR FIRST SIX MONTHS IN Paris?

"Personally, I think that I'm improving little by little. It's true that at the start, I wasn't playing too much, and I'm starting to play more and more. I feel better and better. I think we're on the right track. We're getting more and more into what the coach wants from us, we're getting into the tactics together, and I like a lot how the team is playing."
