Bradley Barcola: 'I am really looking forward to wearing this shirt'

Hello Bradley, welcome to your new family, the Paris Saint-Germain family! How are you feeling?

I am very happy. Really. It's a real source of pride to sign for such a big club. I can't wait to play in this shirt. 

What motivated your decision to move to the capital?

It's a club that has a lot of ambition, and that is obviously attractive. It's a club that is playing in the top competitions and also often wins the league. And as I like to win, that motivated me. I always knew that it was a big club. I was always impressed when playing against them or watching their matches. So when I had the chance to sign for the club, I took it. And of course, in playing with top players, I know that I will grow a lot, that I will be able to get advice from them, and I think that it will be very good for me.

There is also Luis Enrique who has taken charge of the team. Did that also play a role in your decision to sign for Paris?

Yes, of course. I was able to speak with the coach. It's true that he was also able to find the words needed to convince me. He made me want to sign for the club even more. He likes to play attacking football, so of course that appeals to me and I know that it will be a privilege to be able to play in that way. I am very happy that I will be coached by a coach like that.

You are also very young, you are only 20... Do you feel ready for this challenge?

I handle pressure well. I'm lucky enough to have a family that's very close to me, that attends all of my matches, so I am able to manage it well. The main thing is that I think I'm going to have to contribute to Paris Saint-Germain if I want the club to contribute something to me too.

There is a huge difference between the timid and calm player we see here in this interview, and the player that we see on the pitch, with your explosiveness and fighting spirit. Who is the real Bradley?

Honestly, I would say that it's the Bradley that is here. I am pretty calm in my everyday life. But once I am on the pitch, I have just one goal and that is to win. So I give my all.

And you can give your all across the front line! From the middle where you started to the wing where you have blossomed. We know that you are able to play in several positions, in which position do you feel most comfortable?

Honestly, I can play on the left or the right, so I don't mind switching. On both sides, I think I can bring something to the team.

You can contribute just as much in terms of assists (he has the most assists in Ligue 1 in 2023, editor's note) as you can in terms of finishing. Which do you prefer?

It's true that I really like to score, but I equally like picking up assists. I know that I can be lucid enough to make passes in the danger zone, so I will continue doing so.
