Ander Herrera signs for Paris Saint-Germain until 2024

Paris Saint-Germain is pleased to announce the arrival of Ander Herrera Agüera. The Spanish midfielder comes to Paris after his contract ended at Manchester United and has signed a five-year contract with the capital club until 30 June 2024.

The 29-year-old Bilbao-born midfielder came through the ranks at Real Zaragoza, turning professional in 2009. His form on the pitch did not go unnoticed by the Spanish Football Federation who called up Ander for the 2011 Euro U21 Championship, eventually won by “La Roja” with the Basque midfielder named in the competition’s best XI.

Following Spain’s Euro victory, Ander joined his hometown club Athletic Bilbao where he went on to play 128 matches in all competitions, scoring 11 goals and making 19 assists. During his three seasons with the Basque Lions, the Spanish international (2 caps) became one of the top midfielders in La Liga, eventually joining Manchester United in 2014.

Ander made 189 appearances for the Red Devils, notching 20 goals and 27 assists. The midfielder also put in a man of match performance for Man Utd’s 2017 Europa League Final victory, having previously reached the final with Athletic Bilbao in 2012. Ander will wear the number 21 on his Rouge et Bleu jersey.
