Ander Herrera : "Fight for my team"

The Paris Saint-Germain midfielder spoke at a press conference and answered questions from PSG TV on the eve of the Matchday 1 group stage UEFA Champions League match against Manchester United, this Tuesday October 20 at 21:00 at the Parc des Princes. Extracts.

MANCHESTER UNITED

"I think Manchester United have progressed a lot. The team is more mature now. There are players like Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial who have always had a lot of talent but are now more consistent. I think that's the main reason they have progressed. Harry Maguire, Bruno Fernandes and Aaron Wan-Bissaka have added quality to the squad. But I think we need to focus on ourselves. If we're at our level then we have our chances of winning the game."

UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE

"Honestly, we are speaking about winning on Tuesday and not about winning the Champions League. I don't know of the objective of winning the Champions League is fair on us or the other clubs involved. There are maybe 10 or 12 clubs who want to win it. If a club doesn't manage that then that doesn't make it a horrible season in any case. Our objective is to win the domestic competitions, not just to win the Champions League. A lot of clubs want to win it. It's a dream but not the unique objective for the season."

MEMORIES

"Of course I was happy with the victory at the Parc des Princes. We didn't have a lot of hope before the match as we had a lot of injured players but we played well and won. Now I am a Paris Saint-Germain player and I'm making the most of it. If I start the match, I will play it with Paris Saint-Germain in my mind and with the desire of winning the match. Without supporters the atmosphere will be different but I'll fight for my team."
