All you need to know: Paris - Montpellier

The stakes, the stats and the history behind Friday's Ligue 1 encounter with Montpellier.

A LITTLE HISTORY...

It's the 68th competitive game between the pair. The Parisians' record reads 29 wins, 21 draws and 17 defeats.

Paris Saint-Germain are unbeaten in their last 10 home matches against Montpellier in Ligue 1 (6 wins, 4 draws), last tasting defeat against them at the Parc des Princes on 15 May, 2010 (1-3).

Montpellier have only scored one goal on their last eight visits to the Parc des Princes in Ligue 1: Florent Mollet struck in the Rouge-et-Bleu's 5-1 victory on 20 February, 2019. The Parisians have scored 21 times in that run.

There have been 22 players who have worn the colours of both clubs: Christian André, William Ayache, Claude Barrabé, Bruno Carotti, Aliou Cissé, Patrick Colleter, Xavier Gravelaine, Vincent Guérin, Jonathan Ikoné, Thierry Laurey, Jean-Claude Lemoult, Francis Llacer, Patrice Loko, Claude Lowitz, Nicolas Ouédec, Christian Perez, Patrice Py, Laurent Robert, Stéphane Sessegnon, Benjamin Stambouli, Siaka Tiéné and Daniel Xuereb.
Angel Di Maria is Paris Saint-Germain's leading scorer against Montpellier with five goals. Kylian Mbappé, Raí and Pedro Miguel Pauleta come next with four each.

THE STAKES...

The Rouge-et-Bleu, freshly installed at the top of the league, are unbeaten in their last six Ligue 1 matches (4 wins, 2 draws).

The Parisian defence has not conceded a goal in the last three top-flight games (Lorient, Strasbourg and Brest). Since the start of the season, Paris Saint-Germain have registered six clean sheets in their ten home games.

Neymar Jr could play his 100th game in Rouge-et-Bleu. With 80 goals and 41 assists, the Brazilian number 10 is the player who has contributed to most goals before his 100th appearance in the club's history. Zlatan Ibrahimovic was the previous best with 83 goals and 27 assists before he reached a century of appearances in 2014.

Angel Di Maria, who has scored 49 times in Ligue 1, could reach the half-century milestone. Only 11 players in the club's history have ever scored 50 top-flight goals or more.

Moise Kean has scored at least once in his last three appearances at the Parc des Princes.

THE KEYS TO THE match...

With 44 goals in 20 matches, Paris Saint-Germain are the league's top scorers, ahead of Lyon and Monaco (39 each).

Montpellier are a favourite prey of the Parisian goalgetters: they've scored 22 times in the last six league meetings, and netted a total of 104 times in competitive games against the southerners.

Montpellier are one of 15 clubs to have conceded over 100 goals against the Parisians: Saint-Etienne (158), Lyon (154), Lens (146), Marseille (143), Bordeaux & Nantes (141), Bastia (134), Metz (133) & Sochaux (127), Lille (124 buts), Monaco (120), Toulouse (119), Nice (116) & Rennes (113).
