All you need to know: Paris - Brugge!

The history, the stakes and the keys to the game ahead of Tuesday's UEFA Champions League Matchday 6 group game with Club Brugge.

A little history...

It's the fourth competitive meeting of the two sides, who played twice last season with two Parisian wins (5-0 in Bruges, 22/10/19, and 1-0 at home 06/11/19)  before the 1-1 draw in Bruges on 15 September this season.

The pair had met twice in friendlies with the capital club suffering a brace of defeats in Belgium (0-2 on 27/07/1996, 0-2 on 22/07/2006).

Paris Saint-Germain have faced a Belgian club 13 times in competitive matches : Anderlecht (6 matches), Club Brugge (3 matches), Gent (2 matches) and Waterschei (2 matches). Their record reads: 7 wins, 5 draws, 1 defeat.

At the Parc des Princes, Paris Saint-Germain have had six encounters with Belgian clubs, going unbeaten (4 wins, 2 draws).

Three players have played for both clubs: Thomas Meunier, Stanley Nsoki and David Rozehnal.

THE STAKES...

With eight points from five games, the Rouge et Bleu are already through to the Round of 16.

It's the club's 30th European campaign since their continental debut in the 1982/83 European Cup Winners' Cup. It's the club's 133rd UEFA Champions League game (71 wins, 25 draws, 36 defeats). The capital club is going to play its 245th European game*: 126 wins, 55 draws, 61 defeats so far.

Paris are participating in their 10th successive UEFA Champions League group stage campaign since 2012. Only five other clubs have done that: Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, FC Barcelona, Juventus Turin and Manchester City.

The capital club joins Bayern and Madrid as the only clubs to have always qualified from the group stage since 2012/13. Barcelona will join them if they come through against Bayern in their final group match.

KEYS TO THE match...

The Parisians will want to keep up their unbeaten record at the Parc des Princes: 12 matches (11 wins and a draw) since losing to Manchester City in last season's semi-finals (1-2, 28/04/21).

The Parisians have also scored in every group game since losing 1-0 to Madrid on 03/11/2015, a run of 37 successive games.  Kylian Mbappé's goal at Manchester City means he has now scored 23 European goals for the club.

Captain Marquinhos now holds the club record for European appearances with 70, ahead of  Marco Verratti (69).

Leandro Paredes could feature in his 100th competitive game for the Rouge et Bleu.
