All you need to know about Real Madrid CF vs Paris Saint-Germain

Find out all you need to know about tonight's match between Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain and you will own the pre-match trivia conversation:

A little history...

This will be the tenth official meeting between Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid, with the capital club having won three, drawn two and lost four of the previous nine.

In Madrid, Paris have won just once, 1-0 in the UEFA Cup Winners Cup quarter-final first leg on 3 March 1994, for three losses.

Paris Sain-Germain have also played two friendy matches at the Estadio Santiago-Bernabeu against Real Madrid: on 4 October 1994 in a tribute match in honour of Spanish attacker Juanito, (0-4 loss), and again for the Jubilee of Maxican striker Hugo Sanchez, on 29 May 1997 (1-4 loss).

Paris Saint-Germain have played 31 official matches against Spanish opposition: 11 times against FC Barcelona, nine times against Real Madrid, four times against Deportivo La Coruna, twice against FC Sevilla, Athletic Bilbao and Valencia CF and once against Racing Santander. Paris have won 12, drawn seven and lost 12.

10 players have played for the two clubs: Nicolas Anelka, Alphonse Areola, David Beckham, Angel Di Maria, Lassana Diarra, Gabriel Heinze, Jesé, Claude Makelele, Keylor Navas and Pablo Sarabia.

The stakes...

While Paris Saint-Germain are already qualified for the last-16, the French champions need one point against Real Madrid to secure top spot in Group A.

If Paris lose tonight, they will need to defeat Galatasaray at the Parc des Princes on 11 December, or hope that Madrid fail to defeat Club Brugge in their final match.

The capital club has scored at least once in each of its last 28 UEFA Champions League matches since a 1-0 loss to Manchester City in April 2016.

Kylian Mbappé could play his 100th match, and Angel Di Maria his 200th match, in official competition for Paris Saint-Germain tonight.

The keys to success...

Paris Saint-Germain are the only club left in the Champions League this season yet to concede a goal. At the Bernabeu, they will be looking to stay on track to establish a new record: no side has ever completed the group stage with six clean sheets since the start of the current format in 1992-1993.

Paris are one of one of ten sides to have conceded just one goal in a single group stage campaign: AC Milan (1992-93), Ajax (1995-96), Juventus (1996-97 and 2004-05), Liverpool (2005-06), Chelsea (2005-06), Villarreal (2005-06), Manchester United (2010-11), Monaco (2014-15), Paris Saint-Germain (2015-16) and Barcelona (2017-18).

In the 2015-16 group stage of the Champions League, when Paris conceded just one goal, that goal was scored by... Real Madrid on 3 November 2015 at the Estadio Santiago-Bernabéu (0-1).
