A little history...

Prior to their relegation to Ligue 2 at the end of the 2013-14 season, FC Sochaux-Montbéliard were one of Paris Saint-Germain's favourite opponents, with a record largely favourable to Les Rouge et Bleu: 45 wins, 13 draws and only 20 losses in 68 matches, with the most recent 4-1 win for the French champions coming on 6 February 2018 in the Round of 16 of the Coupe de France.

At the Parc des Princes, Paris Saint-Germain last match against Sochaux was a 5-0 win on 07/12/2013 in Ligue 1. Les Sochaliens have not won in Paris since 2 December 1990, with a 2-0 win on what was Antoine Kombouaré’s debut for the capital club. Since then, Paris are undefeated in 18 matches (12 wins and 6 draws).

It was also at Sochaux that Paris Saint-Germain played its first match in the first division upon their return to the top flight 47 years ago. On 2 August 1974, the Parisians won 1-0 thanks to a goal from Christian André.

Pedro Miguel Pauleta is PSG's all-time top scorer against Sochaux with seven goals. He is followed by Carlos Bianchi, Dominique Rocheteau and Guillaume Hoarau (5 goals) and then Luis Fernandez, David Ginola and Mevlüt Erding (4 goals).
