Alessandro Florenzi: "Continue to win"

The Paris Saint-Germain defender looks back at his start to life at the capital club before giving his impressions of the new coaching staff.

Alessandro, a few months after your arrival, how do you feel?
"I feel very good. In all honesty, the guys gave me a fantastic welcome. In a very short time, I really settled very well into the group. I also knew some of the others before and that was obviously a big help too. Leandro Paredes played with me at Roma and obviously that people speak Italian helped me settle in, but I also speak Spanish after my time in Valencia and that also helped. Obviously it’s a special time. I joined a new league that I didn’t know and it surprised me from every point of view. Obviously learning French isn’t easy, but I am trying to learn because I want to feel even more at home here in Paris."

You've shone since the start of the season, and have scored a few goals…
"Yes, that’s my style of play, I like to attack a lot and we are a team that attacks a lot, but we also have to be careful in defence. To be able to attack well, first and foremost you also have to be organised at the back. This is what we are working on in training at the moment. My goal against Angers? I think I scored other better goals in my career. It was what I wanted to do. I controlled the ball well and that was my only option and I did it well. I hope to score more goals and I hope soon that we will have our supporters inside the stadium because we miss them a lot."

How has the start been for Mauricio Pochettino and his coaching staff ?
"A new coach means new tactical ideas. We need to listen to what he says and do everything to apply his tactics. They are new ideas that we are trying to learn. It's not easy because the coach has only been here a short while. Everything's going well.  The coaching staff immediately explained their way of working. We need to give everything. We are a team and we need to move forward together."

Mauricio Pochettino, as a coach, and you, as a player, have already won your first trophy at the club…
"Honestly, it was a nice feeling. I didn’t expect such a celebration from my teammates and it was very touching. Now, having won my first trophy, I don’t want to stop here, I want to keep winning and win as many trophies as possible.  We want to keep playing for silverware. Winning is never easy. Everyone plays at 110% against Paris Saint-Germain and we have to give our best, each and every time to defend our shirt."
