Abdou Diallo: 'The feeling I can improve'

The Paris Saint-Germain defender sets his sights high as he prepares to face Rennes in Sunday's league game.

HIS FIRST IMPRESSIONS
I wasn't completely relaxed during the Trophée des Champions, but I think that's all part of settling in. Last Saturday, for my first game at the Parc against Nîmes, I really wanted to do well. It's totally normal to want to give the best of yourself in front of your own fans. So I have the feeling I can improve.

RENNES
It'll be a different context when we meet Rennes this time. The Trophée des Champions was two weeks ago, on another continent, so we have 15 more days of work in our legs. I think we played better against Nîmes last weekend than we did in the Trophée des Champions.

A SIMILAR TRAJECTORY TO HIS COACH
Yes, I've been at Mainz and Borussia Dortmund before coming to Paris Saint-Germain...two teams that Thomas Tuchel had coached before, which makes me smile! Honestly, I didn't think of that when I signed here, it was the club's project that convinced me more than anything.

UNDERSTANDING WITH THIAGO SILVA
It's simple: for our connection to be as fluid as possible, I have to stay as alert and open as possible in every training session. We also have to speak to each other, work hard to build our understanding. Nothing can replace playing though, so things will improve the more matches we play.

KYLIAN MBAPPÉ
I played with Kylian at Monaco and he's stayed the same as a person, even if he's grown and become more mature. On the pitch, Kylian has become a real killer, he's clearly improved in terms of his finishing, you can see he's extremely precise.
