5 out of 5!

The setting:
Friday night's match pitted the only two undefeated sides left in Ligue 1 against each other. Paris were looking to make it five wins out of five and could count on the returning Marco Verratti, in the starting XI along with debutant Juan Bernat, while up front, Europe's most prolific attack was also looking hungry for more...

The match:
Saint-Etienne hadn't arrived in the capital as lambs to the slaughter and Khazri (5') and Diony (13') both fired shots across the Paris bow. But it was two Parisians making their first starts of the season that showed them the way to goal. And what a goal it was! Verratti chipped the ball into the area and the Germany international controlled with his head before lobbing Ruffier with a second header (1-0, 22')! It was a special goal to make the breakthrough. But Les Stéphanois stayed on the front foot (nine shots at goal in the first half) and PSG relied on the defensive prowess of Presnel Kimpembe, Thiago Silva and Alphonse Areola (31', 42') to stay in front.

After the break, Paris stepped it up another gear with Edinson Cavani scoring from the penalty spot after being brought down in the area (2-0, 51')! After seeing a goal ruled out for offside (65'), it was Angel Di Maria that landed the knockout punch with a missile into the roof of the net (3-0, 76'), before youngster Moussa Diaby completed the scoring (4-0, 85'). It was a record sixth consecutive victory for Thomas Tuchel - a new club record!

A man in the match: Moussa Diaby
One of five youth academy graduates on the pitch at the final whistle (with Areola, Kimpembe, Nkunku, Rabiot), Moussa Diaby netted his first senior goal for Paris in the 85th minute in his second appearance at the Parc. Introduced at half-time and lively throughout the second half, it took him 40 minutes to get his name on the scoresheet…

The word: Turbo
Paris have now scored at least three goals in each of their five Ligue 1 matches this season - not since Reims in 1952-53 has a side made such a prolific start to the season!

Next up:
After Les Verts, it's time for the Reds! Like last year, Paris begin their European campaign on the other side of the Channel where the famous song You'll Never Walk Alone is more famous than any other... The difference is, after Celtic and a 5-0 win last year, Paris will measure themselves against Liverpool, finalists of last season's Champions League! Rendez-vous at 21:00 CET next Tuesday at Anfield. Are you ready? You bet we're ready!
