With a hat-trick in the 5-0 win over Anderlecht on 31 October au Parc des Princes, Layvin Kurzawa became the first defender in the club’s history to score three goals in a competitive match. Better still, the Rouge et Bleu full-back is the first and only defender ever to net a triple in the UEFA Champions League.

In lifting the Ligue 1 Hexagoal trophy at the end of the season, Paris Saint-Germain won their seventh French league championship (after 1985-86, 1993-94, 2012-13, 2013-14, 2014-15, 2015-16). They join Lyon in fifth place on the honour roll behind Saint-Etienne (10), Marseille (9), Monaco and Nantes (8).

In defeating Dijon 8-0 on 17 January at the Parc des Princes, Paris Saint-Germain recorded their biggest ever home win in all competitions. The previous best dated back just a year, to 7 January 2017 and the 7-0 Coupe de France win over Bastia.

Officially crowned at the end of Week 33 of the Ligue 1 season, Paris Saint-Germain became the second-earliest champions in the competition’s history (since 3 points were introduced for a win), equal with Lyon in 2006-07. The all-time record is held by… Paris Saint-Germain who won the 2015-16 campaign after just 30 matches. This season, Paris sat atop the standings from Week 3 of the term.

With a brace in the 2-2 draw against Guingamp, Edinson Cavani became the club’s all-time leading scorer in Ligue 1. The Uruguay international has scored 116 goals in 165 Ligue 1 matches, eclipsing Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s previous best of 113 goals in 122 league games.
