Wijnaldum brings smiles to the children at Necker Hospital

As the festive season approaches, the Paris Saint-Germain Foundation delighted the children of the Necker Children's Hospital - AP-HP with a visit from Georginio Wijnaldum. A magical afternoon of laughter and generosity in a special Christmas edition of the Radio Necker programme, hosted by the Paris Saint-Germain Foundation and Radio France, also a partner of the hospital.

During yesterday's visit, the children of Necker Hospital - gathered in the hospital's auditorium or in their respective rooms - enjoyed an unforgettable live radio show and an appearance by Jamel Debbouze, who came to greet them. Twenty children had the great pleasure of receiving gifts in the colours of Paris Saint-Germain directly from the hands of Georginio Wijnaldum.

Sabrina Delannoy, Deputy Director of the Paris Saint-Germain Foundation, said: "We are delighted to have been able to bring a smile to the faces of these children who often cannot go home for Christmas celebrations.  As with every player visit, it was a very emotional moment, both for the children and for Georginio, whose made his first visit. I thank him warmly for his generosity and kindness. The sick children were able to experience an extraordinary afternoon with them. With Radio Necker, we will continue to innovate to cheer them up!"

Vilayleck Maya, Director of the Necker Children's Hospital - AP HP, continues: "I would like to thank the Paris Saint-Germain Foundation for their loyal support over many years. The moments spent with the players create unforgettable memories for the children. At the end of the year, this is a wonderful gift! We hope that these programmes will continue for many years to come."

This event is a continuation of the Radio Necker programme set up by the Paris Saint-Germain Foundation and the Necker Enfants Malades - AP HP hospital during the first lockdown in March 2020. More than 10 sportsmen and women, including Marquinhos, Sarabia, Daniel Narcisse, Thierry Omeyer, Didier Ollé-Nicolle and Ashley Lawrence, took part in this initiative, which was a source of joy and escape for these young children.
