The U19s beat OM to make it into the final!

After coming from behind to beat Olympique de Marseille 2-1, the Paris Saint-Germain U19s qualified for the final of the U19 Championnat National play-offs. A look back on the encounter.

THE STARTING ELEVEN

Mouquet, N. El Hannach, Lamy (c), Bagbonon, Fernandez, Muntu Wa Mungu, E. Mbappé, Diaby, Lemina, Gharbi, Housni.

With their clash against Olympique de Marseille this afternoon, Zoumana Camara's side were going to play in a decisive encounter with a place in the final of the U19 Championnat National play-offs up for grabs. A Classique for a place in the final for our Titis, who played under the watchful eyes of President Nasser Al Khelaïfi, as well as Presnel Kimpembe and Warren Zaïre-Emery.

For the encounter, Zoumana Camara was boosted by the returns of Ismaël Garbi and Serif Nhagha who were both unavailable for the previous match against Angers, as well as his captain Hugo Lamy. Ilyes Housni started up-front. Les Parisiens began the match at full speed and immediately looked dangerous. After Gharbi had picked up the ball, the Parisian number 10 found Housni. Housni fed Muntu Wa Mungu in deep, but his shot went wide of the target. Les Marseillais reacted quickly and from a cross from the left, Mughe headed past Louis Mouquet (0-1, 17').

Les Rouge et Bleu had been stung and tried to react. Noah Lemina's solo run saw his shot saved by the goalkeeper. Muntu Wa Mungu thought he had equalised but his goal was disallowed for offside. More incisive, however, Les Parisiens finished the first half well and from another Gharbi offering, Housni saw his effort fly just wide.

But Papus Camara's side had shown in the previous round that they had courage. After the break, Noah Lemina, who was clearly in fine form, fed Housni perfectly, and the latter curled his shot into the back of the net (1-1, 58'). The second half was bitterly contested, and just as it looked as though we were heading for a draw and a penalty shoot-out, Ismaël Gharbi found Ilyes Housni with a sublime pass in deep: the Paris number 9 dribbled around the goalkeeper and finished into the open net (2-1, 90'+3). In the same way as last week, our Parisians turned the game around and it was Ilyes Housni who secured the victory for Paris Sant-Germain.
