Stan Wawrinka at the Centre Ooredoo
For the last few weeks, the Swiss tennis player has been continuing his recovery from injury at the Centre Ooredoo following an invitation from the President of Paris Saint-Germain, Nasser Al-Khelaïfi. The 2015 French Open winner spoke to us about his time in Paris.
Stan Wawrinka has been recovering his fitness in Paris since August. Laid low by a tendon injury that necessitated surgery in June, the Swiss tennis player has been undergoing his rehabilitation at the Centre Ooredoo. Invited by President Nasser Al-Khelaïfi, the athlete has been recovering from the injury to his left foot in the best possible conditions:
"It's an injury that's very difficult to treat. I contacted President Nasser Al-Khelaïfi to see if he could put me in touch his with his medical team, Aspetar. He gave me their details straight away and now I'm here, benefiting from optimum conditions for my rehabilitation."
It is an ideal situation for Wawrinka, who required the best care available: "I'm really very happy because I needed this to be able to relaunch and continue my career. I'm working every day with the club's doctors, outside of the players' schedule. I'm lucky to be working with a team like Aspetar, and to be here in Paris."
