PSG U19 in Youth League mode!
The Paris Saint-Germain U19, led by Thiago Motta kicks off their UEFA Youth League campaign away to Liverpool at 16:00 CET on Tuesday.
Like the Paris Saint-Germain first team, the players from the U19 squad flew to Liverpool on Monday afternoon ahead of the European clash. The future stars shared the flight with the established names of the professional squad.
Before then, Thiago Motta's side had trained for the final time at the Stade Georges Lefèvre in Saint-Germain-en-Laye. It was a chance for the National U19 Group A leaders (four wins from four) to finetune preparations ahead of the meeting with the Reds.
"It's a great match to be a part of, against an historic club," explained the former Paris Saint-Germain midfielder. "The lads aren't necessarily used to playing these types of games, but they have to get used to it. I am sure we are capable of playing well. I am expecting a high-intensity match against a side that will play very direct football and that will look to play on the counterattack. But I am confident we can cause them some problems."
After arriving in the early evening in Liverpool, the youngster finished the day with a video session at their hotel. Kick-off on Tuesday at 16:00 CET (15:00 local time) at Langtree Park in Saint Helens.
