PSG Academy Brasil runs inaugural edition of the Copa Norte Nordeste

From 5th to 7th July 2024, Paris Saint-Germain Academy Brasil held the first-ever edition of the Copa Norte Nordeste, which took place at the club’s academy centre in Natal, northeastern Brazil.

The Copa Norte Nordeste is a regional competition that brings together players, families, collaborators and coaches from a variety of Brazil's PSG Academy centres. This year, around 312 players split across a total of 28 teams from eight of these centres got together for a weekend of competitive football, discussion and learning.

With the teams ranging from U7 level to U13 level and split across both boys' and girls' football, the young players showed real motivation on the pitch and put in some excellent performances over the course of the weekend's matches.

Various activities were organised during the three-day event and were accompanied not only by music but also by a real sense of sportsmanship, particularly in the case of the traditional and popular Festas Juninas, a festival held annually in northeastern Brazil and filled with joy, history and dancing.

With a total of 71 matches played and 319 goals scored, the competition was a resounding success, and the club's mascot, Germain, was also there to put a smile on the participants' faces!
