Pauleta and Guillaume Hoarau visit the PSG Fan Club in Réunion

Last Sunday, the island of Réunion hosted a seven-a-side football tournament that brought together more than 480 players from 48 teams. Whether it was through the matches themselves, the original entertainment or the presence of Paris Saint-Germain legends Pauleta and Guillaume Hoarau, the event provided an unforgettable spectacle for the football fans and the families that had turned up in their droves.

On Sunday 1st December 2024, the Stade Olympique in Saint-Paul was the venue for a seven-a-side football tournament involving 48 teams and more than 480 players. In glorious sunshine, the event lived up to all its promises, combining competition, entertainment and unforgettable moments in a warm atmosphere.

Spectators turned out in force to watch some intense matches, including a thrilling final that ended 2-1, with the winners sharing €5,000 in shopping vouchers courtesy of Stadium by Moderny's, one of the club's partners. The tournament was also graced by the presence of two Paris Saint-Germain legends – Pauleta and Guillaume Hoarau – who were on hand to sign autographs and to delight the fans by taking an active part in proceedings, not least with a superb goal from the former Portugal international.

Alongside the competition, original activities such as blind football, teqball and football tennis made for a unique day for the whole family, while the outstanding organisation of the 178 matches meant that they were all completed on time, with the help of numerous volunteers and attentive medical staff. One of the highlights of the trip was also Pauleta's visit to the pupils of the school in Mafate, which can only be reached on foot or by helicopter.

All in all, the tournament celebrated football in all its forms and promises to be even more spectacular next year!
