With seven of its athletes having been chosen, including six as part of the France team, Paris Saint-Germain Judo will be the best-represented French club at the 2023 World Judo Championships in Doha.
The competition is set to take place from Sunday 7th to Sunday 14th May at the Ali Bin Hamad al-Attiyah Arena (or ABHA Arena for short) in Doha.
Amandine Buchard will be the first Paris judoka to enter the fray in the -52kg category on Monday 8th May. The next day, Redouane Dris will represent Algeria in the -73kg category.
Alpha Djalo, meanwhile, will get his World Judo Championships underway in the -81kg category on Wednesday 10th May, before two other Rouge et Bleu athletes, Marie-Ève Gahié and Alexis Mathieu (in the -70kg and -90kg categories respectively), follow suit on Thursday 11th May.
Finally, on Saturday 13th May, Romane Dicko and Teddy Riner will bring up the rear for Paris in the +78kg and +100kg categories respectively.
Arnaud Aregba (-81kg) will also be in Doha with the France team as a reserve.
The mixed team event will be held on Sunday 14th May to close out the competition, with all of Paris’s athletes eligible to take part in it as part of the final squad.
