Paris Saint-Germain x Clown Skateboard celebrate the dynamic fusion of their two worlds

The relationship between Paris Saint-Germain and Clown Skateboards began early in the pandemic, with the idea that both football and skateboarding are good for mental and physical health, and that it is vital to make them accessible to as many people as possible.

A couple of years ago while Clown Skateboards, the London-based brand was just waking up from its 15 year hiatus, they decided to formalize what they had always done by donating a healthy proportion of their sales to helping children take up skateboarding, by paying for equipment, supporting skatepark builds in disadvantaged areas of the world and offering lessons. This desire to give something back to the community resonated with the work done by the Parisian club and its Foundation.

"Paris Saint-Germain and Clown Skateboards share a desire to celebrate the values of passion, fun and solidarity that unite football and skateboarding,” announced Fabien Allègre, Brand Director at Paris Saint-Germain. “Skate culture has always been a source of inspiration and above all a marker of the societal and philosophical decorum of the new generation.

This first collaboration that we are launching today embodies this spirit, which is shared by both brands. We are building this relationship for the long term and, along with the Paris Saint-Germain Endowment Fund, will ensure that it benefits a maximum number of kids.

The coming together of large and small sometimes does not mix, but when the mindset is to take what you know and love and share that with people so you can achieve more for a purpose, it seems to level things up.

Getting to know the PSG family has really opened our hearts – they may be part of something massive but are 100% grounded in the same passion as us here at Clown Skateboards, wanting to enhance, support and create with the cultures we all love,” added Jeff Boardman, CEO at Clown Skateboards.

The result of this initial collaboration is the launch, in summer 2022, of a very special capsule collection that includes skateboards, clothing and works of digital art, which combine the two brands’ passion, energy and fun. The t-shirts, hoodies and hats carry on Clown Skateboards' longstanding commitment to the environment, with all products being sustainable, vegan and produced in the United Kingdom.

Inspired by the distinctive sounds and culture of Paris, Los Angeles and New York, an abstract colourway has been specially created for each city in the range. Three cities – New York, Los Angeles, and, of course, Paris – each have their own identity woven into the garments. The ranges also feature the signature “Clown ear” pattern, a deconstruction of the original Banksy logo, which has been reinterpreted for this special Paris Saint-Germain capsule collection.
