Paris Saint-Germain inaugurate Academies in Hong Kong and Macao

In line with its continued expansion in the Asian continent, Paris Saint-Germain inaugurates two new PSG Academies in Hong Kong and Macau. The ceremony will take place on December 2nd and 3rd, 2023, in the presence of the club legend, Nicolas Anelka.

Since 2018, the PSG Academy has been steadily growing in Asia, aiming to provide high-quality training programs to hundreds of young footballers aged 3 to 17. These programs are led by experienced coaches trained by the club.

In Hong Kong, the Academy, which opened its doors this summer, is now established year-round within five international schools, including some of the most prestigious ones on the peninsula: Christian Alliance International School, Malvern College Hong Kong, Singapore International School, South China Athletic, and Discovery Bay International School. In 2024, new branches will be established to allow all fans of the club in Hong Kong to benefit from the programs offered by the Academy.

To celebrate this ambitious development, an official delegation from Paris Saint-Germain will be present in Hong Kong on December 2nd and in Macau on December 3rd. Nicolas Anelka, a former iconic figure of the club and the French national team who has played in some of the most illustrious European and Chinese clubs, will also participate in this prestigious event.

Nicolas Anelka: "I am very honored to represent Paris Saint-Germain in this country that is dear to me. Seeing the club establish itself among young talents is more than a project; it's an opportunity for them and for the development of Chinese football. This adventure offers children more than just a playground; it gives them the chance to dream big."

In the early afternoon on December 2nd, fans present will have the opportunity to meet their idol and participate in various activities at D-Park, a family shopping center in Hong Kong, which will host a mini PSG Academy field and a temporary exhibition in honor of the club. Then, the official inauguration of the PSG Academy Hong Kong will take place at Christian Alliance International School, where a press conference will be held in the school's auditorium, followed by a festive training session on the field, with Nicolas Anelka joining the young players of the Academy.

The next day will witness the inauguration of the PSG Academy Macau, where Nicolas Anelka will take part in another training session with the young academy players on the Cesar Golf Club field.

Nadia Benmokhtar, Head of Brand Development for Paris Saint-Germain: "Inaugurating these academies alongside Nicolas Anelka is a great pleasure. His journey at Paris Saint-Germain, transitioning from the youth teams to the professional team, makes him the ideal representative to emphasize the importance and quality of the club's training. It is entirely natural that Nicolas Anelka, as a club alumnus with close ties to China and a special affection for Asia, is present to support Paris Saint-Germain in the development of its PSG Academies on the continent."

With the opening of these new PSG Academies in Asia, the ties between Paris Saint-Germain and the vast continent only strengthen. Over the years, the club has developed numerous projects aimed at offering unique experiences to its Asian fans, including summer tours by its professional team in China, Japan, and Korea, the opening of official stores in Tokyo and Seoul, its 16 fan clubs, esports teams, and various collaborations with Asian brands and artists.
