The U15/U16s qualify for the quarter finals!
The Paris Saint-Germain U15/U16s drew 2-2 with their counterparts from FC Barcelona on Monday 17 February at the Aspire 5 in Doha, Qatar, in the second match of the group stages of the Alkass International Cup.
After their 3-0 victory over Kashiwa Reysol on Thursday in the opening match of the 2020 edition of the tournament, the young Parisians needed a point in order to secure first place in Group B after the Japanese side's 2-1 win over the Spaniards on Saturday. Les Rouge et Bleu took the lead at the very end of the first half, thanks to a goal from Housni (1-0, 45'+1), but saw Les Catalans get back into the game when Ausin found the back of the net (1-1, 74'). Tayamoutou gave the club from the Capital the lead once more (2-1, 81'), before Canizares got the second equaliser of the game from the penalty spot (2-2, 86'). A goal that was of no consequence for Hervé Guégan's side, who confirmed their place in the quarter finals. In the next round, they will face the team that finishes in second place of Group D on Thursday 20 February at 16h45 (local time, 14h45 in France). The outcome will be decided during the match between Zenit and Sporting CP on Tuesday.
