Paris Saint-Germain enters Forbes’ 50 most valuable sports teams globally

Paris Saint-Germain is now one of the 50 most valuable sports teams in the world, according to the Forbes ranking unveiled this Friday by the leading business magazine. It is the first time the capital club enters the ranking, which orders the valuations of the top 50 franchises across the NBA, NFL, NHL, MLB and European Football. The club enters the ranking at #43.

Across the group of 50 distinguished teams, Paris Saint-Germain ranks number 1 for the highest valuation growth over the last five-years (+207%), with a particular surge in value enjoyed over the past 24 months (+129%). Commercial success, investment in talent, and above all a highly innovative approach to branding, has elevated les Rouge et Bleu amongst the most valuable globally since the takeover of Qatar Sports Investments in 2011.

Nasser Al-Khelaïfi, Chairman and CEO of Paris Saint-Germain, said: "We can be proud to have elevated Paris Saint-Germain among the most valuable sports franchises in the world. While we take satisfaction in the progress, we remain focused on our future objectives. We are working on many projects on and off the pitch in the next few years that will consolidate and reinforce the strength of our institution and brand, for generations to come."

Last month, Forbes named Paris Saint-Germain as one of the top 10 most valuable soccer clubs for the first time, valued at $2.5 billion.
