New edition of the Cantine Solidaire at the Parc des Princes

On Tuesday 19th March, the Parc des Princes hosted another edition of the Cantine Solidaire. As part of “March for Equality”, a month dedicated to equality with various initiatives and operations run by the Paris Saint-Germain Foundation, around 200 disadvantaged students were treated to lunch prepared by chef Alessandra Montagne from the Nosso restaurant (Paris 13th) and volunteers from the charities La Communauté Écotable, Le RECHO and StudHelp in the Parc des Princes kitchens.

Lunch was prepared in the morning while various sports and leisure activities (football, basketball, bowling, stadium tours, etc.) were organised for the students and attended by Louis Mouquet and Mariama Dabo, goalkeeper and player for Paris Saint-Germain’s U19 teams, respectively. There were also HR workshops to guide the students in their job search. The day’s schedule was centred around various main themes: equality, sport, culture, digital world, citizenship, music. The club’s partner, Hisense, was involved as patron of the event and generously donated electronic equipment (televisions, soundbars) to be used during the day. A food drive was organised by StudHelp, with the help of Not So Dark, also patrons of the event.

This operation was co-organised thanks to the expertise of the charities La Communauté Écotable, StudHelp and Le RECHO. La Communauté Écotable is committed to promoting sustainable food and aims to speed up dietary transition in France, with the idea that food can only be sustainable if it helps make our society fairer, more habitable and more viable. For its part, StudHelp aims to fight against student hunger across France by putting students in need in contact with individuals who want to help them. Finally, through various social and solidarity-based gastronomy projects, Le RECHO uses cooking as a motor for inclusion and insertion for people exiled in France.

Sabrina Delannoy, Deputy Director of the Paris Saint-Germain Foundation, announced: “We are delighted with the success of this new Cantine Solidaire. During ‘March for Equality’, we are able to promote our various programmes that help people in need, and the students were able to enjoy a lovely afternoon. I would like to thank our partners and event patrons, as well as the volunteers, without whom this event would not have been so successful.
