Faïza Mokdar extends contract with Paris Saint-Germain Judo

Paris Saint-Germain Judo is delighted to announce Faïza Mokdar has signed a two-year contract extension, taking the 2021 U21 world bronze medallist, who competes in the under-57kg category, through to 31 August 2024 with the club.

Faïza Mokdar won the U18 French title in 2017 – her first national title – before becoming U18 world championship silver medallist.

In 2018, she completed a unique treble in French judo: U18, U21 and senior French champion, aged just 16. In the same year, she won both the U18 and U21 European titles.

The Massy-born judoka retained her U21 European title in 2019 and 2020, and finished runner-up at the 2021 French championships.

Last season, Faïza Mokdar won two bronze medals at the Abu Dhabi (United Arab Emirates) and Tel Aviv (Israel) Grand Slams, while contributing to Paris Saint-Germain Judo’s victories in the Europa League and the French championship Division 1 team event.

“Extending my contract with Paris Saint-Germain is a new, decisive step in my career, she explained. We produced some great performances with the Club last season, both nationally and on the European stage. I’m very proud and happy to belong to this very high level group, which is determined to win titles in the future. It’s with a lot of ambition and determination that I’m going to continue my career with the Rouge-et-Bleu family. I’m really looking forward to the start of the new season.”

“Faïza is one of those athletes that leaves a mark on a generation, said Djamel Bouras, President of Paris Saint-Germain Judo. Since the start of her career, she has won a large number of titles, in both individual and team competition. She has shown a lot of talent and determination to be able to compete successfully in the seniors. We’re really looking forward to seeing what the future has in store for her given she has such huge potential. The whole club will be alongside her to help her build on what has been a very promising career so far.”
