Alpha Djalo extend his contract with Paris Saint-Germain

Paris Saint-Germain are pleased to announce the extension of Alpha Djalo's contract for another season. The Frenchman, who plays in the under 81kg category, is now tied to the Club until 31 August 2022.

Parisian native Djalo won the French junior title in 2016. He confirmed this at senior level by reaching the podium twice and winning two bronze medals, in 2017 and 2018.

The 24-year-old French judoka won the silver medal at the Grand Slam in Düsseldorf in 2018, a performance that opened the doors to France's national team. Alpha Djalo has now made three appearances at the World Championships - in 2018, 2019 and at the 2021 edition, held in Budapest last June.

"I am delighted to continue my adventure at Paris Saint-Germain for another year," said Alpha Djalo after his contract was extended. "My first season was full of twists and turns but I am very happy with my experiences at the Club. I am determined to regain my confidence and win new competitions, starting with the French individual and team championships."

"We are happy to extend the adventure with Alpha Djalo for another season," said Djamel Bouras, President of the Judo section of Paris Saint-Germain. "He is one of the promising young athletes in whom we believe, for his judo qualities but also for his determination to succeed. The Club's staff are eager to continue their work alongside Alpha to enable him to take a step forward as an athlete and to exploit his full potential."
