France celebrates

On Tuesday night, Les Bleus qualified for the final of the World Cup to the delight of football fans in Paris and across the country.

Paris Saint-Germain ace Kylian Mbappé produced another scintillating performance for his country and spoke after the match about Les Bleus' incredible team spirit: "We are very happy, there's a great atmosphere within the squad, a great bond between everyone. Now we have one match left to keep showing the same spirit. I saw the pictures on the Champs-Elysées - it's just extraordinary. I wasn't even born in 1998 so this is the first time I've experienced something like this, it's incredible. It's a dream, I could never have imagined it would be like this, but today we're here and we will give everything in the final."

The scenes on Tuesday night certainly recalled those of a certain summer in 1998. The French public have rallied around their team. There's one match left to try and lift the Holy Grail, on Sunday, but the fans were still on Cloud 9 on Wednesday morning in front of the Paris Saint-Germain store on the Champs-Elysées, such as Benoît: "It was total euphoria. We are all supporting Mbappé, so it was crazy! It represents so much, the whole country is happy, very proud, especially for the players that play for our club. We are really very proud."

Pride and euphoria... two words that help describe an unforgettable night... before hopefully experiencing something even bigger and better on Sunday in the final.
