Cavani fires Uruguay into quarters clash with France!

Thanks to a double from Edinson Cavani, Uruguay beat Portugal 2-1 in the last 16 on Saturday and qualified for the World Cup quarter-finals, where La Celeste will take on France.

It only took seven minutes for the Paris Saint-Germain star to make his mark. In possession on the right flank, El Matador switched play to the left, where Luis Suarez cooked up an inch-perfect cross for… Cavani, who beat the Portuguese 'keeper with a bullet-header at the far post (7'). After the break, Pepe headed home for Portugal to level matters (55'), but Cavani clinched victory for his side with a magnificent first-time curler (62'). Unfortunately, the Parisian striker had to leave the field injured in the 74th minute. La Celeste take on France in the quarters on 6 July.
