Paris Saint-Germain Handball equalled the record for consecutive victories to start a Lidl StarLigue season when they beat Dunkerque (22-30) in their Round 22 Lidl Starligue clash on Sunday afternoon. Check out the reactions of Raul Gonzalez, Nedim Remili and Baptiste Clay.
Raul Gonzalez (Paris Saint-Germain Handball coach):
"Everyone played well. However, here it is always complicated. We were very concentrated in all areas during the first 30 minutes. But we especially made the difference at the beginning of the second half. The Lidl StarLigue is very complicated. There are the best players in the world. That's why it's good that we have won so many games! We have to keep working. Before Montpellier, there will be Istres and we must beat them. We equalled the record of 19 victories to start a season, but it is not the most important thing. Even though I am sure that the players will do their best to beat it."
Nedim Remili (Paris Saint-Germain Handball right-back):
"We wanted to set the pace from the start, but Dunkerque responded with good aggression, which meant the first half was balanced. In the second half, we accelerated again and that put us in a better position. Everyone enjoyed themselves! We relaxed a bit at the end of the game, because we know that we have other big matches to play. Since our week without a game, we have been winning, with good intensity. We have to continue like that. The most important thing is to continue to gain confidence for the coming games, which we also want to win."
Baptiste Clay (Paris Saint-Germain Handball centre-half):
"We equalled a record for consecutive victories with 19 wins, so now we have to get the 20th! Our match was successful and no-nonsense. It gave me the opportunity to play and I am very proud of that. I am lucky to be able to rely on the staff. They help me a lot when I come on and at training too. Yann [Genty] was great when he came on. His saves allowed us to take the lead and in attack we were clinical. This week, we will have three matches, and we'll have to take them as they come, because it will be physically difficult."
