Ramona Bachmann: "I'm really happy to be staying here"

Interviews

After three seasons in the French capital, Swiss international Ramona Bachmann has signed a two-year contract extension with Paris Saint-Germain. Speaking to PSG TV, she talks about how happy she is to extend her stay at the club, gives her assessment of the current season and sets her aims for the future.

Ramona, after three seasons in Paris, you've signed a two-year contract extension. How proud are you to extend your stay here?

"Obviously, I'm really happy to be staying here at Paris Saint-Germain. I feel really comfortable in this team and in this system. I'm obviously really disappointed that we didn't win the title, but that only strengthens my motivation to do better next season."

What's your greatest memory as a Rouge et Bleu player?

"Without a doubt, the biggest success was winning the league. That was a first in the history of Paris Saint-Germain's women's team, and it was also my first year here. It was a very special moment that I hope to relive, starting from next season."

Following a number of injuries, you've regularly played in a very attacking role this season. With 12 goals and five assists in 29 games, is it a role that you're fond of?

"I think that the stats and my performances show that I've felt very comfortable in this team and in this system this season. We've been unlucky with injuries and have lost some important players. I hope that they'll be back for the start of next season so that we can make a strong start."

What's your assessment of this season from both a team perspective and a personal perspective?

"From a team perspective, I think that we've been below par this season. We're Paris Saint-Germain, and we want to win titles. Unfortunately, we weren't able to achieve that aim this season. That's obviously a bit disappointing, but I think that our character will be important going into next season in terms of showing a reaction. From a personal perspective, I think that I've had a good season. I'm happy with my performances. As I said earlier, I've felt comfortable in the team's system, but I'm not 100% satisfied. The most important thing for me is to win a title."

Finally, is there anything you'd like to say to the club's fans?

"I'd like to tell the fans that they're amazing. We appreciate their support at every game. I hope that we'll be able to continue down this road together and that they'll keep pushing us forward next season."
