Sadou Ntanzi: 'Chambéry won't give an inch'

News

On Sunday afternoon, Paris Saint-Germain Handball play host to Chambéry in their Liqui Moly StarLigue Round 8 clash. Before the match, Sadou Ntanzi spoke to us about Les Rouge et Bleus' league season, but also on his personal situation.

What did you think of your performance against Dunkerque (32-38)?

"It was a good game. We know that this year they have a good team, a competitive team. We had to be good for 60 minutes to beat them. We had to be efficient in attack and solid in defence. It was a great team win!"

That result put Paris in equal-top spot on the table...

"We know that it's a tough league and that there are potential banana skins everywhere, be it for us or for Nantes and Montpellier. The fact that we're on top of the table allow us to keep the doubts at bay. The double-headers against these teams will be crucial, but we must first focus on the games that come before that."

Among those matches is Chambéry, on Sunday. Are they always a tough side to move around?

"Chambéry often get great results. They are a good team, with international players and good goalkeepers. We know it's difficult to win there. But here, we will have our supporters. We will need them too, because Chambéry won't give an inch."

It seems your new-look squad took a few games to adapt to the Liqui Moly StarLigue, but now things seem to be running pretty smoothly...

"The squad has seen a lot of changes, so there was necessarily a need to adapt. That's to be expected... We would have liked to avoid the defeat in Toulouse, but unfortunately, we lost. The good thing is that we were able to move forward. We have progressed from game to game and now, we are satisfied with the content. When you play for Paris, you want to win everything. We absolutely want to be champions. I was happy with the last title, because I felt like I had contributed to it."

You're starting your third season as a professional. How are you feeling?

"I feel pretty good. I feel like I'm progressing. I understand more things than before. Thanks to my teammates, like Luc [Steins] and Niko [Karabatic], I learn every day."
