Paris Saint-Germain held a final training session on the UC Irvine campus on Sunday 22nd June before heading to Seattle, ahead of their match against the Sounders on the third and final matchday in the group stage of the FIFA Club World Cup 2025.
After a final training session in California, the Rouge et Bleu have set off for the Rainy City. There was no rain, but plenty of sunshine and around 20°C when they arrived in the middle of the afternoon. Marquinhos, Nuno Mendes and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia made their way to Lumen Field to meet the media a few minutes before Luis Enrique was due to appear at the press conference.
The Parisian captain had this to say about the upcoming match: "We know what we have to do on the pitch and that's what we're going to focus on. This last match is very important, it's a mini-final for us. It's up to us to get the win. Seattle are a very young team, who have made it difficult for their first two opponents. But we're focused on ourselves," the Brazilian told PSG TV.
A win for the Parisians would secure their place in the knockout phase. The Portuguese international and his team-mates are therefore preparing for this match with determination: "We're feeling good, and we're giving everything we've got to perform at our best on Monday. We know that Seattle are a mix of young and more experienced players. They deserve to be here... and so do we. We're going to do everything we can to win the match."
The Georgian echoed that sentiment: "We came here to win and every game is important in achieving that goal. We know it's going to be a difficult game because Seattle will be playing at home, with a good atmosphere but that's what we're used to. We know it's going to be difficult, but we're prepared for that. I hope we come away with a win."
