Kylian Mbappé scored the 3,000th Parisian goal in the top flight this Saturday evening during the Red and Blue's 2-1 victory at Brest. This is a good excuse to open the history book for six Parisian scorers in the league: Jean Claude Bras (the first), Michel N'Gom (the 500th), Zlatko Vujovic (the 1,000th), Nicolas Anelka (the 1,500th), Jérémy Menez (the 2,000th) and Edinson Cavani (the 2,500th).
Honouring Jean-Claude Bras, the first goalscorer in the club's history in the first division on 25 August 1971, in Nancy. A fortnight after making their first division debut at Angers (0-2) and against Bordeaux (0-0), Paris were still looking for their first win and their first league goal. It is in Nancy that the Parisians got off the mark. It was the 37th minute of play when the goal that all the Parisian fans were waiting for finally arrived. Gérard Hallet crossed and Jean-Claude Bras headed home for Paris' first league win (3-2). The goalscorer of the day recalled this first victory for the Red and Blue during his last visit to the Parc des Princes: "I don't remember that I was the club's first goalscorer in the D1 at Nancy, because for me, the most important thing was to win the matches. We wanted to become the number one club in France, there was a great atmosphere, it was a real joy for a real group of friends."
The milestone of 500 goals was reached on 12 September 1981 by the late Michel N'Gom against Brest, on his first start at the Parc des Princes. In the 67th minute, after a pass from his good friend Luis Fernandez, the Parisian scorer reduced the score without preventing his team from losing (1-2).
The 1,000th goal was scored on 24 May 1991, in President Francis Borelli's last game in charge of the club, against Nancy at the Parc des Princes. Paris ended the campaign on a high note, winning 2-0 with a brace from their departing Yugoslavian striker, who scored a symbolic goal early in the second half (51').
It was not until the end of the 20th century that the 1,500th Parisian goal in the top flight was celebrated. On 9 December 2000, a Paris Saint-Germain side in crisis hosted Metz at the Parc des Princes: nine games without a win, a record in the club's history. The breakthrough came just after half-time, when Metz lost the ball and Peter Luccin intercepted it for Nicolas Anelka, who scored with an unstoppable shot (47').
Eleven years later, a few months after the arrival of the new shareholder QSI at the head of the club, it was Jeremy Menez's turn to write a page in the club's history.
On 4 December 2011, the international striker, set up at the back post by the Brazilian Nenê, scored this symbolic goal (76'), during a match won 3-2 by the Parisians at the Parc des Princes. A goal commented on with modesty by the hero of the evening: "I scored this 2000th goal, it is a pride to mark the history of the club but this goal has especially done good to the team, and that's what I take from tonight."
The 2,500th goal in the top flight was scored by the now former Paris goal record holder, Edinson Cavani. On 27 October 2017, 'El Matador' needed just three minutes to score against Nice with a diving header at the near post. A pass from Angel Di Maria for a Paris classic and an eventual 3-0 win for the Rouge et Bleu against Les Aiglons. A few days earlier, the 2499th goal in Marseille had marked the history of the club and its supporters, with a free-kick from the Uruguayan striker in stoppage time that silenced the Stade Vélodrome like never before...
