Paris Saint-Germain manager Mauricio Pochettino and center back Presnel Kimpembe reacted after the Trophée des Champions loss to Lille.

« I think we were the better team on the pitch tonight. But we didn't take our chances, and to win in football you have to score. It's a new season, I'm happy with my players; attitudes, and we'll be better when we have the full squad available. I never doubted any of the players' commitment. We wanted to win tonight, we did everything to do so, and we played the players who were capable of doing so. »

'It's obviously disappointing, it's a final and there's a trophy at stake. It hurts but it's the beginning of the season, we have to find our rhythm. We had a lot of young players in this team, we need to be better at creating chances and working together so congratulations to Lille but it's only the beginning of the season, and we'll have to prepare ourselves for the future.
We had the ball, but having the ball is not enough, we have to create chances, but football is like that, we have to keep our heads held high for the next game. We have to get ready for this game in Troyes and we have to forget about this and move on.'

'I think we dominated the game, but we didn't create any real big chances, and we didn't score. I think we worked well during pre-season and we're feeling good physically, there are other things that we have to improve on, so I think we can do that. But physically, I think we are very strong. They defended well, but we could have found more space, created more chances. The result is not what we wanted, we wanted to win this Trophée des Champions but we have to accept it and continue in the right direction.'
