The Parisians stay top!

News

Olivier Echouafni’s team defeated Paris FC 4-1 in the derby this Sunday. The Rouge et Bleu maintain their spot at the top of the league table.

The Parisians went into first place after their victory against Lyon before the international break. They needed to kick on this Sunday afternoon as they welcomed Paris FC in a long awaited derby.

Just like against OL, the Rouge et Bleu piled the pressure on from kick off and were rewarded with a bit of luck as Butel scored an own goal (1-0, 2’). It was Katoto who carried on her fantastic form by doubling the lead fifteen minutes later. She headed home from a Sandy Baltimore corner and left the opposition keeper with no chance at all (2-0, 17’).

The only negative from an impressive first half was Formiga coming off injured after a knock on her tibia… Marie-Antoinette Katoto carried her teammate all the way to the bench, a real sign of the team’s togetherness!

After the break it was more of the same as Baltimore scored her fourth of the season (3-0, 46’) before she got her second assist of the game when she played the ball to Bachmann. Having just came onto the pitch a few minutes earlier, she made it four (4-0, 62’).

Paris FC managed to get a goal right at the end, but it would only prove to be a consolation. The Parisian get the win and in dominating style. The goal now is to finish the year in style by beating the Havre in a week’s time, in between two legs of the UEFA Women’s Champions League Round of 32 tie against Gornic Leczna.
