Against the reigning European champions, the Parisians fell agonisingly short after an intense encounter in Bilbao.
There was not much in it as Olivier Echouafni's side gave Olympique Lyonnais quite a contest in the UEFA Women's Champions League semi-finals.
Unsurprisingly in a game between two sides who know each other so well, there was very little to choose between them. The match turned in Lyon's favour just after the hour mark: Grace Geyoro was shown a second yellow card (66') and Wendie Renard headed the only goal of the game past Christiane Endler from the resulting free-kick (0-1, 67').
Despite being a player short, the Rouge-et-Bleu sought to get back on level terms, and Nikita Parris' red card - for a charge on Endler that led to a second booking - gave them an opening (75').
They very nearly took it. Had Paulina Dudek's long-range effort bounced either side of Sarah Bouhaddi in the Lyon goal, it might have been a different story (90+4').
