The Paris Saint-Germain women's team won 2-0 against Soyaux on Friday 18 March at the Stade Georges Lefèvre in Saint-Germain-en-Laye, on the 17th match day of D1.
A week after being held to a 0-0 draw by Montpellier in their own stadium, the Parisians once again headed for the Yvelines on Friday. This time on the Red and Blue's menu was the visit of Soyaux, 11th in D1. Four days before the first leg of the UEFA Women's Champions League quarter-final against Bayern Munich, Didier Ollé-Nicolle decided to rest some of his key players for this match against the Sojaldiciennes.
The Red and Blue started the game with a bang as Jordyn Huitema (3') and Kadidatou Diani (12') went close to opening the scoring. In the meantime, the young Jade Le Guilly, starting at left-back, was forced to leave the pitch to Sakina Karchaoui (6') due to injury... who was decisive from the outset, beating Romane Munich from 6 metres out thanks to Sandy Baltimore's pass (1-0, 13'). The score remained the same until the break, despite Paris' domination.
After the interval, the capital club again put pressure on ASJ's goal, but could not add to their lead. At the end of the match, they finally managed to get a second thanks to a goal from Aminata Diallo (2-0, 84'). The score stayed at 2-0, meaning Les Parisiennes are back to winning ways.
This win allows the Parisians to consolidate their 2nd place in the D1 ranking with 46 points (15 wins, 1 draw, 1 loss) and to remain 3 points behind Lyon, who beat Dijon 3-0. Next up for Didier Ollé-Nicolle's players are the trip to Munich and the first leg against Bayern on Tuesday 22 March at 6.45pm at the Allianz Arena, then the Coupe de France semi-final against Fleury four days later at 2.15pm at the Stade Auguste Gentelet, before the return leg against Munich on Wednesday 30 March at 9pm at the Parc des Princes.
