Paris Saint-Germain's American international, who arrived in the capital in January, has had an intense six months in Paris. Here, she looks back on some of the highlights of her time here, as well as the future ambitions of the PSG women's team!
Eva, what do you think of the season just gone?
"There's a lot to be pleased about after this season. Obviously we would have liked to have won every competition we entered, but we can be proud of what we have achieved."
You quickly established yourself in the team...
"I wasn't expecting that at all! When I arrived here, my aim was to learn as much as possible and fit in as well as possible. I'd been told that I was going to get a bit of game time, with some substitute appearances in particular. I knew what I had to do, and with that in mind, I wanted to give everything I had to help the team as much as possible. To have played so much was a surprise, it was a great season."
What personal goals did you have in mind when you arrived in Paris?
"I hadn't set myself many individual goals. I just wanted to be able to help the team as best I could. Of course, there were the collective goals that we all know about. With my experience in the national team, I wanted to go further, but when I arrived here, I wanted above all to be the best I could be for the team."
Something clicked this season, particularly at the end of 2023...
"I think there was a lot of perseverance and a desire to always be better. You always have to question yourself, whether you've won or lost. I think the character of this group in the face of adversity has been the team's strength in overcoming it and starting 2024 in the best possible way."
How is the group looking ahead to next season?
"I think we all have the same objective of winning even more trophies, the Champions League in particular, being the best team in Europe, and winning domestic trophies too. Losing to Lyon in two competitions this season has given us plenty of motivation for next season. Some of the players will be on international duty this summer, but when they all return to the Campus, we'll all be working hard to come back even stronger."
